So you want to market your business on mobile… Sweet! What tools exist to help do that? In this post we’ll be reviewing a few mobile marketing platforms out there, based on our research. Mobile marketing is one of the most important parts of most modern marketing campaigns thanks to the proliferation of Internet-ready mobile devices. Everyone wants to be connected everywhere, all the time. Surprisingly enough, business owners don’t always have time to focus on it, however, due to the myriad of other tasks necessary to keep their businesses running.
Fortunately, there are several platforms available that can help automate mobile marketing messages and ensure that your company’s marketing campaign runs smoothly while you focus on other aspects of the business.
Here they are, in no particular order!
Kahuna is a relatively new mobile marketing platform that focuses on increasing consumer engagement. The philosophy behind Kahuna is that in order to keep customers engaged you must personalize their experience and market to real people using something other than generic messaging. Thus, the system doesn’t focus just on marketing your product to consumers, but on engaging your target audience to download the app, use it and buy things from you while using it.
Kahuna offers over 50 pre-installed engagement campaigns. You first tweak the campaign and marketing messages to meet your target audience’s needs, automate it, check the results and then tweak some more to maximize the campaign’s efficiency. Kahuna’s wide range of templates allows you to create and automate almost any type of mobile marketing and engagement campaign you want. Once you set the campaign up, it is sent automatically to your mobile customers at the times you specify.
2. Urban Airship
Urban Airship offers two types of automated mobile campaigns. Multi-step campaigns send a variety of automated messages that change over time in response to the consumer’s interactions with your app. In addition to sending messages based on the consumer’s mobile behavior, multi-step campaigns can be set to automatically send follow-up messages after an event, like when a consumer completes a purchase. If you are not interested in adapting your mobile campaign to consumer interactions, you can also automate a closed-loop campaign that sends the same messages at the same time to all targets, regardless of their interaction with your app.
Silverpop is an Internet marketing company that has recently added mobile marketing automation to its arsenal of tools. In addition to automating mobile campaigns via its marketing platform, you can assign scores to consumers and prospects based on criteria such as their demographic, the number of visits they’ve made to your mobile website and previous interactions between your business and the user. Whenever a consumer hits a target score, the automation tool kicks in and begins sending the consumer mobile marketing messages.
