What are Link Bubbles?

What are Link Bubbles?

annebot May 21, 2014

While we’re very focused on mobile marketing here at FOMO, we sometimes stumble upon a cool app or feature we can’t wait to tell you about. The latest app that’s caught our fancy is called Link Bubble!

The Link Bubble mobile app changes your online Android experience by allowing you to access links without closing the source app. Traditionally, when you open an app on your Android device and click on a link, you end up being redirected away from the application you were using.  When your Android device is powered by Link Bubble, it allows you to open a link in the background as a pop up, while you continue using your app. It sounds so simple you can’t help but wonder why nobody thought of it sooner.

Jack Wallen of TechRepublic is particularly enthusiastic in his review, saying, “The second I used it, my first impression was simple: Wow … someone really gets the mobile experience. […] Why isn’t this the default behavior for Android in the first place? This is a real game changer.”

You can get a version of Link Bubble for free, which will limit you to opening links from a single app. Otherwise, you can fork over a whopping $4.99 (USD) to get the full scope of “experience-enhancing features” Link Bubble has to offer.

TechRepublic wasn’t the only one to love Link Bubble though. PhanDroid named Link Bubble one of the best new apps for March and Chris Chavez said, “We loved the pop up.”

Link Bubble saves time, improves your online Android experience, and makes you wonder why (oh why?) didn’t someone do this earlier. But some people still flinch at that $4.99. So Chavez looked around and found Hover Browser, which isn’t quite as cool or functional as Link Bubble, but for only $1 it gets the job done. Like Link Bubble, Hover Browser will open a pop up in the background, however it lacks the high-quality performance and the extra features Link Bubble provides.

Which is better, Link Bubble or Hover Browser? Well, if you’re looking for cheap, Link Bubble provides a free version that is limited but has improved performance. Ringing in at a $1, Hover Browser isn’t quite so limited, but doesn’t perform quite as well. If you can swing $4.99, then the pro version of Link Bubble is definitely the way to go for maximum effectiveness and browsing fun!
