While e-commerce is only anticipated to account to 9% by 2016, 80% of consumers will use their smartphones to assist in the decision-making process. In fact, mobile shopping is expected to reach $50 billion in 2014 and by 2016, consumers will redeem more than $43 billion in mobile coupons worldwide. According to a recent report from Custora E-Commerce Pulse:
Once trust has been established after the first successful transaction, [consumers] are more willing to make repeat purchases on a mobile device. Maybe this is an early indicator of more distributed purchasing across devices.”
