FOMO here covering TC Disrupt 2013 in SF! We were surprised this morning by a G+ announcement. First of all, G+ is still fighting to get into the mix, which we respect. The news is that they are going to allow for a better WordPress integration! However, there are a few caveats…
1. Attribution for authors, contest for users. you create a blog with WP, when that post is in Google search or news they are able to give attribution. This all happens within Google news. It will eventually provide a more media rich experience for those who are linking to the author.
The partners G+ announced for this launch are WP and Type pad with a G+ sign in. WordPress is a digital hub, ability to share content from WP to G+ profiles. This gives Google a better flavor for the author and what they’re about. It’s really nice to know the SERPs will be affected by G+ login data, this could be great for the users.
2. Distribution for authors, discovery for users. Cool!
Embedded posts in G+ stream are available to share in a pretty pinterest style. This applies to any post that’s public, you can grab and embed the code. Putting the code on the site seems like a cinch… This feature is fully functional across the web, but it would be awesome if it worked for WordPress…. The irony of this is not lost on us.
Look Ma, no hands!

<!– Place this tag where you want the widget to render. –>
The issue here is that we need to place a bit of .js in our header… Not ideal for WordPress! We’ll just have to link to Mr. Simmons post here, enjoy!
